VGSD is supported by
these major funders

Johnson Ohana Charitable Foundation $5000 grant for U. Garden Classes
Community minded, environmentally aware and groovy all around, musician Jack Johnson does an amazing job of supporting worthy causes in the wake of his concert tours. Through his Johnson Ohana Charitable Foundation, he has donated millions of dollars to social and environmental groups around the world. His social action network, All at Once, collaborates with hand-chosen community groups around the world. All At Once connects people with these non-profits, creating change through our actions, our voice and our choices.

OB People's Organic Food Co-op: $1000
Ocean Beach People's Organic Food Market is a member-owned vegetarian consumer co-op that has been serving the community since 1971. Originally a worker's collective, the cooperative has grown to include 6000 feet of retail space and more than 10,000 member/owners.

Lynne Rosenthal of Stamford, Connecticut donated $500 in memory of Beth Rosenthal through the Leo S. Guthman Fund of Chicago.

The Gerson Institute: $500.00
The Gerson Institute is a safe, natural treatment developed by Dr. Max Gerson in the 1920’s that uses organic foods, juicing and natural supplements to activate the body’s ability to heal itself. Over the past 60 years, thousands of people have used the Gerson Therapy to recover from so-called “incurable” diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease and arthritis. Founded by Charlotte Gerson (Dr. Gerson’s daughter) in 1977, they are the true source of information on the original, unmodified, proven Gerson Therapy. They refer people to licensed Gerson clinics and treatment centers, practitioners and caregivers, also train health professionals, patients and others who want to learn this natural therapy. They have a wide selection of educational books, audio and video tapes on their website.
